- S95 doesn't display the DTE or DCE rates; it simply controls how the "connect"
- message is formatted when the modem connects. I think my Cardinal MVP288 is
- set at S95-046 too, but I don't want to check now cause I'm connected<s>.
-
- The manual shows that S95=46 will generate:
- CARRIER WWWW (DCE Rate)
- PROTOCOL YYYY (Protocol type)
- COMPRESSION ZZZZ (Compression Type)
- CONNECT XXXX/ARQ (DTE Rate)
-
- If you make a connection using a comm program that echos the connect info from
- the modem, you should see the above info.
-
- However, many comm programs intercept this data and don't copy it to the
- screen.
-
- For example, I think that Win95 Dial-up Networking simply echos the first
- reported rate. In the above case, this would be the CARRIER/DCE rate which is
- what you generally want.
